Situation.—A ridge of high pressure is moving eastwards across New Zealand and a depression over the centra] Tasman Sea is approaching the country. Forecast:— Canterbury.—Light to moderate variable winds; fine, but becoming cloudy; temperatures rather mild this afternoon. Outlook: scattered rain developing. West Coast.—Moderate northerlies; becoming overcast and scattered rain developing; temperatures cool. Outlook: rain. Nelson and Marlborough.—Moderate northerlies; rain at first, but becoming cloudy; temperatures cool. Outlook: rain in Nelson, scattered rain in Marlborough.
