Sir,—ln view of the current burglaries it would be an idea if the police station had a telephone number that was easy to memorise ar.d to dial in the dark. —Yours, etc.. 999.
August 12, 1952. [The Chief Superintendent of Police (Mr M. Brown) said: “This matter is under review, and when the necessary equipment is available in Christchurch. consideration wilil be given to installing the equipment in the Central Police Station.]
