Mr Clifford William Barn-: don. aged 51. who was attacked in the Manchester Boarding-house on Saturday evening, was still on the seriously ill list at Princess Margaret Hospital last evening It was reported that there was a slight improvement in his condition: but he was still unconscious There have been no further developments in the invesH- ' gation into the attack on Mr ißarndon and the attack on Miss Nell Woolley at her home in Hereford street on [ July 25. The wooden stretcher leg with which Mr Barndon was[ assaulted contained a coach; bolt secured by a nut. through one end
