£700,000 Stand Paid For
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Aug 13. The Auckland Racing Club's £700,000 official stand ait Ellerslie, which was opened two years ago. is paid for. The club's president (Dr. A. McGregor Grant) reported this to the annual meeting today. Dr. Grant said the stand, opened in June, 1960, cost £610,720, but furnishings, fittings and incidentals brought the total cost to about £700,000. “But we don’t owe a penny on it now." he added. “This is an achievement which reflects great credit on your committee.”
A.A. Elections.— The ballot for members of the council of the Automobile Association (Canterbury) will close at 9.30 am. on October 8, not October 9, as stated in "The Press’’ on August 11.
