Group net profit of Hawkins Holdings, Ltd., Hamilton, building contractor, jumned 199.3 per cent., from £14,824 io £44.361, iri the year to March 31. This profit is equal to an >arning rate of 18.1 per cent on shareholders’ funds of C 245.037. compared with 6.9 per cent on £214,478 last year. It was struck after providing £27,176 more for tax at £41,033 and £2633 more for -ieoreciation at £19.095. Expenses were held down, however. being £l9BO lower at £29,668. Dividend Raised Ordinary dividend has been raised from 7 per cent, to Si per cent, with the 54 per cent, preference payment it takes £13.675, compared with £12.216 the year before. After the transfer of £5OO to form a new general reserve the carry-forward is £57,183 (including £435 minoritv interest) compared with £26,872 brought in. Operating profit was £57.318 higher at £133 872 and the directors state that turnover was a record at more than £l.sm.
