THAI ROYAL TOUR

NX Ambassador Returns ‘(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 13 The New Zealand Ambassador to Thailand. Major-Gen-eral Sir Stephen Weir, returned tonight to discuss final arrangements for the coming visit of the King and Queen of Thailand. He was accompanied by Lady Weir and the second secretary. Mr I. Muir. Sir Stephen Weir said he was very pleased to be back in New Zealand. He and Lady Weir will accompany the Royal party throughout their tour. “I think the people of Thailand are very gratified by the fact that their King and Queen will be visiting New Zealand. It is an important occasion,” said Sir Stephen Weir. As far as he knew, the Royal couple would fly by way of Bangkok, Singapore, Darwin. Sydney and Wellington. Sir Stephen Weir will fly to Wellington tomorrow morning for a meeting with officials of the Internal Affairs Department responsible for the tour arrangements.
