Waimairi School Jubilee
Preparations for the celebration of the Waimairi School jubilee in 1964 were launched last evening with the election of an interim jubilee committee. Eighteen former pupils of the school were elected. The meeting was attended by more than 30 former pupils, members of the school staff and school commiittee, and included the present headmaster, Mr J. R. Sprosen. the longest former serving headmaster, Mr J. Noble, and the chairman of the school committee, Mr H. R. Atkinson.
Mr Atkinson said that progress at the meeting had been most staisfactory and Siat the programme for future committee and subcommittee meetings had been arranged.
Indonesian Dances.— More than 3000 Indonesian youths and girls will stage dances and gymnastic displays at the opening of the fourth Asian Games on August 24. The gymnasts have been trainee by a Russian “master of sport.”—Djakarta, August 13.
