Obituary Mr M. C. Henderson

"T’le Press" Special Service DUNEDIN, August 13.

The death has occurred of Mr M, C. Henderson, a former Dunedin city electrical engineer and city councillor. He was 90.

After 31 years of service with the City Electricity Department 24 of them as engineer. Mr Henderson retired in 1938. He became a city councillor the same year, serving for two terms.

Mr Henderson was the city’s third electrical engineer. after Sir William Goodman and Mr E E. Stark, and he played a prominent part in the development of the Waipori power scheme. Mr Henderson, a bachelor of arts, was a member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers (London) and a former president of the New Zealand Institute of Engineers and of the New Zealand Electrical Supply Authorities' Engineers' Institute

He is survived by two sons and two
