THAI ROYAL FLIGHT
Nine-Plane Escort
When the National Airways Corporation Viscount carrying the Thai Royal couple flies into Christchurch airport on August 23 it will be accompanied by nine other aircraft. They Will be a standby Friendship. three DC3's. two Bristol Freighters and three Devons. Aboard them will be the bulk of the Thai entourage, representatives of the Internal Affairs and Police Departments. servicing crews, and baggage. The standby Friendship will be provided by N.A.C The remaining planes will be from three Royal New Zealand Air Force stations. The Bristol® will come from W'henuapai. the DC3's and two . of the Devons from Ohakea and the remaining Devon will be Wigram's con. tributicn. One of the DC3's is the R.N.Z.A.F. plane used by the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake).
All nine aircraft will accompany the Royal aircraft on its flight frem Christchurch to Momona on August 23.
