OLD BOYS’ BALL
Christ's College Function
Reminders of not only the old school tie but the old school hat band were in evidence on Saturday evening at the Winter Garden when several hundred former pupils of Christ's College attended their school's annual ball. In addition to the customary black and white replica of the school crest on display in the ballroom were unusual decorations in the supper ream featuring black ribbons running the length of each white cloth covered table. Received on arrival by the association's president (Mr N. L. Watson) and Mrs Watson, the 480 guests included Mr M. J. Moffatt, representing the Old Collegians’ Cricket Club, and Mrs Moffatt, and retpresentatives of the following kindred old pupils' associations: Rang) - ruru School. St. Margaret's College. St. Andrew’s College. St. Bede’s College. Christchurch Boys’ High School, and Timia.ru and Waitaki Boys’ High Schools. Mrs Watson wore a floorlength full skirted gown of blue taffeta styled with a draped bodice and matching stole attached. Members of the ball comittee were: Messrs D. J Hill (chairman). D. S. Banks, G C. P Beadel, I. D, Gebbie. A. P Gumeey. and J. G Strack.
