EXAMINATION MARKERS

Teachers’ Request To Students

'rhe 'xecutive of the Canterbury University Students’ Association has not followed the example of the Auckland University Students’ Association executive in advising students not to mark school certificate examination papers if they are invited to do so by the Education Department. The Auckland decision was made after a written request from the Post-orimary Teachers’ Association.

The president of the Canterbury University Students’ Association <Mr N? B. Ullrich) said last evening that his executive had received a similar letter from the teachers’ association, and it was decided the letter should be brought to the notice of students. No recommendation was made.

He added that the question of students marking school certificate papers would be discussed by the council of the New Zealand University Students' Association next week.
