In it, the Minister of Railways (Mr McAlpine) wfll drive off the ship to cut a ribbon at the Picton end of the crossing The General Manager of Railways (Mr A T Gandelb was asked today if it was intended to bring railway rolling stock over in the ship He said they had thought of “bringing a diesel engine or two” over on the crossing, but had then considered that with so many people about this could be dangerous
