N.Z. 25-MILE CHAMPIONSHIP
Young Coast Rider Wins Event (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH. Aug. 5. The New Zealand road championship conducted by the Greymouth Cycling Club over a distance of 25 miles, from Ikamatua to Dobson, on Saturday afternoon was won by a 16-year-old West Coast youth, T. Hartill of Taylorville. Riding alone off a handicap of 10 minutes, he won by 100 yards from a quartet of pacemakers off the smin mark. Fastest time was registered by B. Spicer, of TinwaM. The following were the leading placings:— T. Hartin. Greymouth (lOmin), 1; W. Ryan. Timaru (smin), 2; R. Stokes Greymouth (smin). 3; D. Hewer, Christchurch (smin), 4; T. Sweeney, Greymouth (smin), 5; R. Craig, Christchurch (scr) 6. Fastest Time.—Senior: Craig, 67:50. Junior: Spicer, 67:50 1-5.
