Resuscitation For Baby

(N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU. Aug. 5. Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation probably saved the life of a boy born in a car when the mother was being conveyed to the maternity annex of the Timaru Hospital The person who applied the resuscitation was Mr R Drummond, of Archer street, Timaru. who was a passenger in the car. Mr J. W. Richmond, manager of Cave Transport. Ltd., left by car at 10.55 p.m on Friday night to take the expectant mother, who was accompanied by her husband, to the hospital. After the car had reached Levels, about 13 miles from Cave. the woman gave birth. The baby stopped breathing and Mr Drummond, who had knowledge of resuscitation methods for babies was quickly able to apply the methods.
