SOCIETY PLANS HOUSE
Aid For Crippled Children Next year the Canterbury and West Coast branch of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society plans to build a double-unit house in Lonsdale street. New Brighton. It will be named in memory of Mr H. T. Adams, a benefactor of the branch, says the annual report of the branch, which will be presented to the annual meeting on August 14. The house will be used by children and their parents when coming to Christchurch for treatment or holidays.. It will also be available as a place for out-of-town parents to stay, to enable them to make frequent visits to their children in hospital. The house will also be available for the use of other branches of the society. Children registered with the branch numbered 683 in the 1961-62 year. The largest number with a specific disease is 143. suffering from Cerebral palsy. There are 119 suffering from club foot and 156 are listed as suffering from other congenital disabilities.
