Correspondence Leads To Visit When senior pupils of the! Lauriston School visited the) Mount Pleasant School yes-i terday. there were special I reasons for the pleasure of all ’ he pupils. Since the beginning of this! vear. standards 3 to Standard' 6 of these schools have been exchanging reports on alii aspects of life in Christchurch! and in Mid-Canterbury. Let-i ters have told about life at| school, at play, at heme, and! in the district, and tape re-1 eordings have carried talks.! stories, plays, poetry, and riddles. All this work has! been linked with school syllabus requirements in written and oral expression and in social studies. The pupils were therefore delighted yesterday to meet their fellows previously known only by their writing or by their voices. The Lauris'on punils were shown someth-ng of the district. went, to Mount Pleasant pupils' homes for lunch and then went to the school to compare class rooms and to compete in sports. Thirty-three Lauriaton pupils were brought to Christchurch in cars by their parent*.
