Use For The £20,000

A suggestion that the £24.000 recently offered to the freedom from hunger campaign from the proceeds of the Golden Kiwi lottery, be given to the New Zealand Save the Children Fund, was made at yesterday’s annual meeting of the fund's North Canterbury branch by Mrs W. D. Bunt, a member of the committee. “As for the £20.000 tainted money 'taint yours and 'taint mine—how we would love to get our hands on It,” Mrs Bunt said. "If we could appeal to the Ministers I feel certain that they would say ’take It and go ahead with your good work’.”
