three charges OF ARSON
Labourer Burnt Haystacks (N.Z. Press Association) N. PLYMOUTH. July 9. A 21-year-ohi Ra-hotu farm labourer. Colin James Heal, who admitted three charges of arson, had caused damage to hay and property to the value of £619 10s, DetectfveSergejuyt G. Hogan told Mr A. W Yortt, S.M., in the Magistrates Court at New Plymouth today. Heal, represented by Mr R. J. Brokenschire. was convicted on each charge and remanded in custody till Monday for sentence. Heal admitted setting fire to stacks and a hay barn on three occasions, said Mr Hogan When returning from Hawera test December he saw smoke from a burn-1 mg hay barn. After this fire and when drinking with some I friends he had been dared to start fires in haystacks.
