(N.Z. Press* .Association) ROTORUA, July 10 The deputy-chairman. Mr U. R. Macdonald, and four members of toe committee today walked out from the monthly meeting of the Taupo County Advisory Committee Mr Macdonald claimed the county commissioner (Mr A H. O'Keefe i was “trampling over the rights of the committee by denying it the right to discuss the appointment of a county clerk if it so desired.” Mr O'Keefe had presented a written report to the committee saying he was unable to exercise his legal power to appoint a county clerk in terms of the majority decision of a special meeting of the advisory committee on July 2, favouring Mr C. J. Coates, acting clerk. “No county clerk (hall be appointed before the elected council takes office in three months or so,” eaid Mr O'Keefe He ruled that any discussion on his report of the appointment of a cleric should be by notice of motion with concrete proposals to a future special or general meeting of the committee.
