V. Curtis Wins Open Event
A national representative earlier In the year against Australia. V Curtis, of the Rsiiway Club. Christchurch, won the Canterbury "open" smallbore rifle championship with a score of 400.33. I. R. Ballinger, last year's winner, was second with 399.35
R East, of the Heathcote club, won the A grade title with 398 33 followed bv B. Fitzell iEast), last year's C grade Utieholcer. 397.30
Mrs D. Ballinger , Sydenham > won the B grade title and retained the women's junior Championship with 297 21. Another notable performance was that of Mrs B. Ivin (East), who retained her women's open championship with a score of 396 32 Miss H Johnson (Coronation). an Ashburton club member, won the tyro title wtih the fine score of 296.23. She also holds the South Island title, both won in her first year of competition shooting. Results were:—
