All-Women Team’s Success
The Somerfield team became the first ail-women's team to win a Canterbury Indoor Bowls Association's tournament, when it beat Watersiders, skipped by J Green. 14-5. in the final of the Bradley Cup tournament yesterday
Skipped by Mrs Fairlie. Somerfield easily won the final and scored on eight of the 12 ends The winning team was:— Mrs Fairlie iskipl, Mrs E. Sim (third). Mrs P. Smith (second). Mrs B Henderson (lead). Results were Quarter - finals.—J. Green (Watersiders) beat A. Oakes (Kaiapoi H.S.A.). 7-5: N. Blssott (Springston South) beat Mrs Tavlor (Kaiapoi R.SA). 11-6: Mn Fairlie i Somerfield) beat J. Doggett (Rangiora R S A l. 6-1; R. Hogwood (Atlas) beat L. Atkinson ißiccarton). 7-2. Semi-finals.—Green beat Bissett. 8-5; Mrs Fairlie beat R. Hqgwood. 12-6. Final —Mrs Fairlie beat Green. 14-5.
