‘British Entry Happy Day’
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) ROME, June 26. The Italian Social Democrat Party's head (Mr Giuseppe Saragat) said yesterday that the Commonwealth by itself no longer provided an economic alternative for Britain. It was becoming an increasingly difficult market for Britain, he wrote in a newspaper article. He said British entry into the Common Market would be “a happy day” for the British people, Western Europe and the Commonwealth.
