“Nothing New”
(N.Z. Press Association i WELLINGTON, June 24 There was nothing new in what Mr Macmillan was reported as saying, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said tonight). It had been clear for a long time from the very fact of Britain’s application to join the Common Market that she was keen to do so, and her negotiations had been to that end. What Mr Macmilaln said about the Commonwealth's temporary and permanent needs was simply a repetition of the assurances already given to New Zealand.
