Freedom-From-Hunger Appeal—£lls,7B4 So Far

WELLINGTON, June 17.

With counting still continuing in many areas, the total collection from Saturday’s Freedom-From-Hunger appeal has already reached a record high.

The provisional “cash-in-hand” figure for the whole of the country tonight was £115,784. This is considerably more than double, last year’s figure, with more still to come. Announcing these provisional figures, the Wellington area organiser of C.0.R.5.0. Mr H. L. Trotman, said present indications were that the figure for the whole country might reach £250,000.
