Cold Hotels In Wanganui

(New Zealand Press Association)

WANGANUI. June 15.

Lack of heating facilities in Wanganui hotels was drawn to the attention of licensees today at the annual meeting of the Wanganui District Licensing Committee. “How cold your hotels are.” the chairman of the committee 'Mr B S. Barry. S.M.) told licensees. He said the lack of heating had been mentioned to members of the committee on more than one occasion by visitors to the city. The complaints were not isolated but general.

His committee had asked him to indicate how pleased they had been at the reports from the police, health and building inspectors. Mr Barry added.

He warned that If any licences were renewed subject to requisitions, the committee would expect them to be carried out by the next quarterly meeting. Unless they were substantial, the committee would “want to know why” if they were not carried out within that time.
