Tourist Hotel Corporation The six-storey building known as Franconia, on The /Terrace. Wellington. has been bought by the Tourist Hotel Corporation for £43,250 for use as the corporation’s head office. The present building in which the corporation’s offices are situated, at 60 Cable street. Wellington, had been sold, said Mr A. M. Satterthwaite. chairman of the corporation’s directors, in Christchurch yesterday The new central premises at Franconia, built in 1938. would be more suitable for the corporation to direct the affairs of its resort hotels, and to promote their expansion in liaison with the carriers and agents of the travel industry.
