HOVERCRAFT FOR PASSENGER SERVICE.—The Vickers VA-3. which will soon begin the world’s first scheduled hovercraft service across the Dee estuary, between Hoylake and Rhyl, on the North Wales coast. The service will be operated by British United Airways. Weighing 11 tons, the VA-3 is powered by four Blackburn engines, two for lift and two for propulsion. It can take 25 passengers, and has a speed of 70 miles an hour.
