Syria Seeks Federation

Syria’s Prime Minister (Dr. Bashiv Azmeh) yesterday called for a federal union of Egypt and Syria, and in a radio speech expressed the hope Iraq would also join in. In his radio address, he said his Government would start contacts with Egypt on the final shape of the union. The reports of the broadcast came a few hours after newspaper censorship ended in Syria.
