Methodist Harrier Championships

Christchurch teams were third and second in the senior and junior sections of the Methodist harrier clubs’ annual New Zealand championships held at Milson. near . Palmerston North, last week-end. The races were held over dry, undulating country, seniors running two laps, and juniors one. of a 34-mile course, which included 20 fences. The best performances by Christchurch runners were those of P. Betts, who finished fourth in the senior race, and C. Wood, who was third in the junior race. Results were:— Senior race: J. Daube (Wellington) 1, B. Pratt (Wellington) 2. R. Daube (Wellington) 3. P Betts (Christchurch) 4. T. Dean (Wellington) 5. Senior teams’ race: Wellington 1. Auckland 2. Christchurch (P. Betts 4, E. Wolfe 10, M. Milligan 16) 3. Junior teams’ race: Wellington 1, Christchurch (C. Wood 3, G. Dixey 7, R. Caldow 8) 2, Auckland 3.
