NATIONAL AND LABOUR
Differences In Outlook
The National Party sprang from an amlagamation of several political groups prepared to combine their thinking and strength to oppose the socialist way of life and to starve the socialist hunger for the State domination of the individual, said Mr C. C. A. McLachlan, the chairman, in his address to the annual meeting of the Canterbury-Westland division of the National Party yesterday. “This is still the issue today,” he said. “The National Party is still the country’s shield against absolute and complete dictation from the State, coupled with a virulent form of political expediency practised by the Labour Party.”
