Meeting Discusses Complaints Complaints of poor ventilation, overcrowding, and lack of heating, toilet facilities, and hot water in office accommodation for public servants were discussed at a committee meeting after the annual meeting of the Canterbury section of the Public ‘Service Association on Mondav evening. It was said that on Monday staff of the Health Department. the Social Security Department. and the Taxes Division of the Inland Revenue Department in Christchurch worked in uncomfortably low temperatures caused by lack of adequate heating. A sub-committee was set up to investigate the matter. It will be guided by the standard code laid down to ensure adequate office accommodation in private enterprise. The national president (Mr E J. Batt) addressed the meeting. Section officers elected were:—Chairman, Mr T. P Stevens: vice-chairman. Mr D F Parris; treasurer, Mr J. M McKenzie; auditor, Mr N. A Smart.
