NUCLEAR TESTS
People Called To Protest (RZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 17. “Our politicians are doing less than their duty in seeking to persuade us that the forthcoming tests on Christmas Island are necessary, and in writing down their possible harmful effects on human life.” said the national secretary of the New Zealand Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (Mr K. Findlay) in a statement today. “It is with a full sense of responsibility that the N.Z.C.N.D. rejects our Govemmeret's comforting reassurances in this matter and calls on the people of New Zealand to voice their protest this Easter—the festival of the affirmation of life over death
“A four-day march has been organised to end at the steps of Parliament Buildings at 3 p.m. on Easter Monday and all interested in human survival are urged to join us in impressing on politicians our views that they are doing less than their duty.”
