Cricket FIFTH TEST

West Indies On Top (N^PA.-Rent er—Copyright) KINGSTON (Jamaica >. April 17. F. Worrell, with 88 not out, and the fast bowler, L. King, took the West Indies into a strong position against India on the third day of the fifth and final test yesterday. The West Indies, who won the four previous teste, have a great chance pf making a 5-0 clean sweep of the series. India, 178 and 37 for two, was 321 runs behind at the close of play. Unperturbed by three stoppages for rain, Worrell batted confidently for four hours 26 minutes, hitting two sixes and eight fours. King, who took five wickets in the first innings, followed up Worrell’s fine innings by dismissing Durani and Jaisimha cheaply in India’s second innings. Rain and poor light cut the day’s play by two hours 13 minutes, and Hall and King revelled in the heavy atmosphere when India batted. Worrell, who resumed today with the West Indies 138 for six, soon lost King, but had good support from R. Kanhai who had D. Hunte as runner because of a pulled thigh muscle.

two for X, three for 75. tour for 118, five for 131, six for 138. seven for 141, eight for 154, nine for 248.
