West German Budget
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright.) BONN, April 13. A record 1962 Budget of 53,404 million marks (about £4768 million) was approved yesterday by the West German Bundesstag (.Lower House). The Budget provides an estimated 15.000 million marks (about £1432 million) on defence, about one-third of total spending. The Budget, which shows a deficit for the first time since the West German State was set up in 1949, needs a second reading before the Bundersrat (Upper House) on May 11 before it can become law.
