Promotion For Officer

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. April 16. The man who has kept New Zealand appraised by press and radio bulletins of fire danger in different parts of New Zealand during the fire season has received promotion in the New Zealand Forest Service. He is Mr E. R. Blake. Chief Fire Control Officer. Wellington, who has been appointed assistant Conservator of Forests. Invercargill. During the last three years. Mr Blake has had under survey the weather in every part of the country and has been able to warn of fire risks. Mr Blake joined the Forest Service's permanent staff at Obakune in 1938.
