Conversion To Decimal
(N.Z. Press Association) N. PLYMOUTH, April 16. Steps will be taken by the Associate Chamber of Commerce of New Zealand to ensure that New Zealand is not backward in converting to the decimal coinage system. This was decided by the annual conference at New Plymouth today with the approval of a lemit: "That this conference is of the opinion that an undertaking be sought from the Government that New Zealand will convert to decimal coinage not later than Australia or the United Kingdom or both, and that the opportunity • nil be taken as soon as practicable thereafter to introduce the metric system for weights and measures ”
