INVERCARGILL, April 15. When Throwaway won the Wairio Handicap and Halyard the Linton Handicap at the Wai. rio (Trotting Club’s annual meeting on Saturday they returned a record double of £627 8s for the Wairio course. The meeting was held on a rain-sodden track which had sheets of water across it for the early events. These churned into mud and slush. The meeting was held In showery and overcast weather.
