WARRANTS OF FITNESS
Testing Hours Extended To cope with a rush of motorists to obtain new warrants of fitness in time for Easter travelling, the City Council has extended the hours for its vehicle testing station in Christchurch. The normal operating hours of the testing station will be extended today, tomorrow and- on Wednesday. In addition to daytime testing, vehicles will be able to use the station up to 7.45 p.m on each of the three days. The station will be closed all day on Tuesday. April 24. “We hope that as many people as possible will take advantage of the extended service to get warrants of fitness, not only for their cars, but for trailers and caravans that may be used for holiday travelling,” a council spokesman said yesterday.
After You.— John White of Richmond Hill, Ontario, has been charged under the provincial Highways Traffic Act with “failing to yield right-of-way to a tree.” The tree in question was northbound on the back of a lorry.
