FLIGHTS TO AUSTRALIA
Winter Schedule Starts
On April 1 the winter schedule of combined T.E.A.L.-Qan.tas flights to Australia and Fiji from Christchurch came into operation. The winter schedule will operate until September 30, apart from some special arrangements for the Easter period. Instead of five return flights to Sydney, two to Melbourne, and one to Fiji each week there will now be four to Sydney, one to Melbourne, and one to Fiji. On Sunday. Tlhirsday, and Friday aircraft will arrive from Sydney at 6.5 p.m. and will return to Sydney at 7 p.m. On Monday an aircraft will arrive from Sydney at 2.50 p.m. and go to Melbourne at 4 p.m. On Tuesday the aircraft will return from Melbourne at 2.40 p.m. and will go to Sydney at 4 p.m. The Fiji service will run on Wednesdays, arriving at 4 p.m. and leaving at 6 p.m. On Sunday and Thursday the trans-Tasman service will be operated by Qantas, and the other flights will be operated by T.E.A.L,
In addition there will be extra services around the Easter period. On Friday. April 13. an aircraft will depart for Melbourne at 6 p.m. and on Saturday. April 14, there will be an arrival from Melbourne at 5.40 a.m On Saturday. April 21. there will be a departure for Melbourne at 1.15 p.m.. and the aircraft will return from Melbourne next day at 5.10 p.m.
