Dingwall), aged 15, was 12 ait the time of the accident, which occurred at the intersection of Connal street and Garlands road on October 15, 1959. McCausland Was tlie pillion passenger on a motor-cycle which collided with a car driven by J. P. Davies (Mr R. P. Thompson). The broken thighbone did not mend at first, and surgeons had to insert a metal strip to make a bond. McCausland said in evidence that he did a fair day's work at the factory, but be found it hard because of his leg. If he knocked his leg it caused great, pain, and he was not prepared to risk playing football.
To Mr Thompson, McCausland said he had played no sport since his accident, and there was no sport except swimming which he was prepared to try.
McCausland's father, Trevor Stanley McCausland, gave evidence of his son’s interest in sport—.particularly soccer and cycling—before his accident.
i Mr Justice Macarthur adjourned the hearing to today.
