DRIVER MEETS CREDITORS

Deficiency Put At £560

An admission that he had a further six unsecured creditors, bringing his total deficiency from £203 resulting from debts of £3OB, to an estimated deficiency of £560. was made by Roy Cootes, a driver, pf 43 Vancouver crescent, Aranui, at a meeting of his creditors yesterday, after questions on his actual circumstances had been put by Mr D Malcolm, the agent for the Official Assignee (Mr O. T. Grattan). Cootes, a married man with four children, aged three and a half • to six months, who was adjudged bankrupt on March 22 on his own petition after receiving a warrant of committal, said that he had forgotten about his other creditors when he made out his statement.

In his statement, Cootes said that he thought that having too much on time payment had put him in his present position. Cootes said that about two years ago he had capitalised the family benefit for one of his children to buy his home. In addition to his hirepurchase payments, he had a weekly sum of £4 5s to pay for his home. The meeting was adjourned sine die. Mr Malcolm said that as there were about six other creditors who had not received a notice of the meeting he would call another if it was necessary.
