WELLINGTON, April 5. A motion seeking leave to appeal out of time in a slander action heard last year was filed in the Supreme Court at Wellington yesterday afternoon by Archibald William Stopford Thompson, director of clinical services for the Health Department. In August last a jury awarded Thompson £5OO damages against Harold Bertram Turbott. DirectorGeneral of Health. Mr Justice Leicester subsequently upheld the defence of absolute privilege put forward by Turbott.
