METHODIST SYNOD
Ministers To Meet
A North Canterbury and South Canterbury Methodist Ministerial Synod will be held from March 26 to 28, in the Baring Square Methodist Church, Ashburton, On March 26, the Rev. A. Brash will speak about the recent World Council of Churches assembly at New Delhi.
At a public meeting on March 27, the Rev. M. J. Campbell will speak, church union discussions will be introduced by the Rev. L. V, Willing and the Rev. W. S. Dawson will speak on the historic church in the New Zealand environment. Biblical studies ■will be led by the Rev. W. T. Blight. The draft Declaration of Faith, issued by the Associated Churches of Christ, the Congregational Union, the Presbyterian and Methodist Churches, will be considered at the synod. ‘•The preparation of this draft Declaration of Faith has arisen out of the negotiations for the union to meet the need for a statement of faith that the four negotiating churches hold in common,” said the Rev. W. E. Falkingham.
