Water Polo Won By Army Tile Army won the water polo section of the New Zealand Combined Services’ annual summer tournament, which continued in Christchurch yesterday. At cricket the Air Force beat the Army by seven wickets at Burnham, and in the PoliceNavy game at Hagley Oval play was abandoned because of rain, with the Navy 77 runs behind the Police first innings score, with seven second innings wickets in hand. Results were:— Water Polo.—Navy 13. Air Force 10; Army 13. Air Force 6; Navy 13, Police 1: Army 17. Police 3. Swimming.—Men's 880 yards freestyle: Fairweather (Air Force) 1, De Latour (Army) 2. Holley (Army) 3. Time, 11:42.8. Cricket —Police 342 (Jones 48, Gibson 45, Proofing 43) drew with Naw 88 (Jones five for 16) and 47 for three. Air Force 159 (North 46. Rogers 19; Douglas four for 30, Batson three for 31) and 59 for three (Honour 32 not out; Douglas two for 38) beat Army 112 (Ward 27, James 31. McOscar 35: Rangl three for 38. Hodges three for 53.
