Golf N.Z. TOURNEY IN 1964
Request From Hamilton The management committee of the Canterbury Provincial Golf Association last evening gave a sympathetic hearing to a suggestion from the Hamilton Golf Club that Canterbury should forgo its right to hold the national championship meeting in 1964. to favour of Hamilton. The club explained that 1964 would be the centenary of the founding of Hamilton city, and that the civic authorities would give full support to the holding of national gatherings In Hamilton to that year. A motion that the original schedule of dates be adhered to was passed, but was later rescinded, and the master will be left to toe discretion of Canterbury's delegate on the national council.
The South Island Inter-pro-vincial tournament, held this month at Balmacewan, will be held in Christchurch next season.
