VIRGIN BIRTH

Comment By Rev. J. D. Grocott “My statement on the virgin birth of Christ was made in response to a reporter’s inquiry. If I had been invited to do so, I could of course have given a much fuller and more adequate statement,” the Rev. J. D. Grocott said yesterday. He was commenting on criticism of his statement by a minister from Me th ven. “As it was, I was asked only the one question, concerning doctrinal requirements for the ministry, and I ahswered this question,” sair Mr Grocott. “If, as I surmise, the same is true of the other ministers and priests quoted in ‘The Press’ on Monday, then the Methven minister’s criticism is unfounded.”
