THREE STILL TWISTING

Half-Way To Record The half-way mark to the world non-stop twist record was passed at 948 pan. yesterday by the three survivors of the twist marathon which began at 8.5 pun. on Monday. Twisting tiredly to the music of two dance bands, the three—lan Bell, of Auckland, and Ra Denny and \ulica Pinter, of Christciuirch—were all confident of beating the record of 99hr 26min and of winning the £ 100 prize-money and bonus. "They all stand a good chance of breaking the record, and in my opinion they are as fit now as they were at the start." said Mr K. O Mortenson, the organiser. "They will twist through the centre of town on the back of a flat-deck truck to the Dolphin Lounge in St. Asaph street at 2 pm. today providing they are still going.” he said. There the marathon will continue until there is only one twister left
