INVERCARGILL. March 16. A teacher at the Southland Technical College for the last 26 years, 11 of them as head of the engineering department. Mr J. C. McDonald has been appointed to an important Colombo Plan post in Burma.

He is to supervise the construction and equipping if an artisans’ training school in Rangoon. The school is being built under the Colombo Plan and New Zealand is contributing both finance and Mr McDonald to the scheme. Mr McDonald will be briefed in Wellington by External Affairs and Education Department officials before leaving next Saturday.
