Meat Packers N.Z. Interim 2 p.c.

Meat Packers (N.Z). Ltd., will pay an interim quarterly ordinary dividend of 2 per cent, on April 1. A total of 6 per cent, has been paid for the three-quarters of the June 30 year to date. At the time of the publie share issue last December the directors forecast a dividend of 8 per cent, for the year.

Confectionery.—Confectionery output for 1960-61 was 18.663 tons valued at £5.471.000. This compares with 17,792 tons valued at £5.087.000 the previous year, according to the Department of Statistics.

Cargo Statistics.—ln 1961 New Zealand ports handled a record quantity of 12.6 million tons of cargo, an Increase of 1,110,000 tons compared with 1960. when the previous highest quantity was recorded. Of this Increase 691.000 tons was in inward overseas cargo, and only 53.000 tons in outward overseas cargo, the balance being spread over all other types of handling.

Over-Subscribed.—The public issue by Penfolds Wines Austra. Ila. Ltd., closed immediately after opening, heavily oversubscribed The issue is of 1.7 million 5s shares at a premium of 4s 3d.

M. and C. Dividend—Milne and Choyce, Ltd.. Auckland, has declared an unchanged interim dividend of 5 per cent payable on April 16 and ex dividend on April 9. In the year ended July 31, total ordinary payment was raised from II per cent, to 11 2-3 per cent.. Including a final dividend of 6 2/3 per cent.

Maling Interim.—Maling and Company. Ltd., Christchurch, wine and spirit merchants, announce Interim dividends of 5 per cent ordinary and 2J per cent, preference, unchanged on last year; payable April 1.

Lyell.—Directors of Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company, Ltd., announce that thn Supreme Court of Victoria has confirmed the reduction of the capital of the company The share transfer books will close at 5 p.m. on March 22. to give effect to thia reduction of capital by a distribution of one fully paid share of 2s M In Mount Lyell Investments. Ltd., for each fully paid 5s share In the Mount Lyell Mining and Railway Company held at that date.
