NEW EDITION OF HISTORY
Branch Of Society Plans Publication A new edition of the “N.?-—’■> History of Canterbury” will be published by the Canterbury bra--’' of the Royal Society of New Zea. land to mark the branch's centennial this year. The volume will contain five sections, with contributed articles by 35 experts. It Is hoped that the volume will be ready for printing by the end of this year. It is planned to canvass for. sufficient advance subscriptions to guarantee its success. “I am certain that the publication will be of an exceptionally high standard, and will fulfil a real need in the scientific literature not only of Canterbury but of New Zealand as a whole,” said the branch’s president (Professor G. A Knox). “I urge the fullest support for the pro. ject as a permanent memorial to our centennial year.”
